She saw he understood.
Somewhat.
I know this will come as a great shock to you, but... Relei never really left you. She did die a very real death, but she never left you. She braced herself for whatever his reaction to the following statement would be... I am Relei.
A re-incarnated variation, with more experiences, but I'm still... I'm Zethiael, I'm Relei, it's all relative. Almost as one, but for a few differences...

It seemed a long time before the brute responded, now-widened gaze searching Zethiael's face for resemblance of his lost love. All motion, from the flick of his plume to the expansion on his chest to draw in air, had momentarily ceased. Reincarnation? A pup's tale, an excuse young ones who had yet to grasp the concept of death were told of deceased parents, relatives, or friends. Their littermate had become a bird, or the river, or even another cub. But it wasn't real... It wasn't possible...
The ache of his lungs finally snapped him back to the present, and Demisi exhaled slowly, shakily. But it made sense.. Not perfect sense, but inexplicable happenings had become clear. Things fell into place with startling accuracy. He pulled himself forward, as if in a dream. It seemed that his paws guided him forward, almost hesitantly, toward the femme.. as if to touch her, ensure she was a living being, and not another fantasy. Not another fantasy... He slowed before her, weakened limbs resisting his weight, but still he stood, gazing at her. The Alphen's maw grazed her shoulder as he nuzzled the fae, like a pup seeking reassurance from its mother. So beautiful.. so real...

She did the same to him, just thinking about many things; her mind roiled. Her conciousness from this life and the other one were both exploding, with a feeling she'd now begun to understand.
And she thought about how, even though he had one essence stumbling about in there, he would be going through quite a state of shock. Relei had died, he knew it. And then she came along, and he wasn't quite helped by her prescence. And now that they were basically the same wolf...
She nuzzled him back reassuringly, understanding his predicament. He was on owvering legs, though whether that was form fever or shock she couldn't tell, and she lended her body to hold him up stably.

He succumbed to his pleading muscles, dropping back on his haunches, though his front half did not move a fraction. The faintest of smiles crossed Demisi's maw. Even if it /did/ seem impossible, it set his mind at ease... He spoke, softly as if more to himself than her.
"I've waited.. so long..."
He had... For what? It was something most experienced, he supposed. That nagging feeling, that terrible emptiness that convinced him that, perhaps.. Life's pain was not worth its joys. Waited bitterly for the day he could join Tor and Fenris in the forest of eternity, to be reunited with his beloved, his lost posterity. It had never occurred to him that earth could host such joy..

It was a strange sensation. Both her memories and her past-life memories were intertwined in one feeling, one sensation, one understanding it and the other not.
I did not understand what compelled me, that day, to walk into the blinding light of high noon, but now I do... And I also understand how, even disregarding this life's past, I felt so.. incomplete...
If it was possible for a wolf to purr, if it was possible for a purr to be telepathic, she purred.

The brute pondered this, half marveling the miracle, half content to sit there in overwhelming ecstacy. After a moment, though, the sense of burdening leadership began to lower its weight. He paused, blinking and drawing back to peer at Zethiael.
"How long.. how long have I been out?"
He trailed off again, shook his head, and started briskly off toward the door, if a bit unsteadily, all the while murmuring as if to himself.
"Hmm.. Never got to show you 'round the packlands.. Funny how time flies... Now, then, shall we?" A bright, almost fatuous smile took his features as he tossed his gaze over a shoulder.
ooc| Omofhdof.. <3 Gecko posted.
o.o;; Wooww. Sucky return, though.. I really, really couldn't think of what to post.. So I started screwing the main flow of action. x33;; BUT ANYWAY. Chah. Isn't post-fevering fun? xDD;; That time when you're kind of out of whack and prone to doing things without thinking about or remembering them?

((xDD You're slightly pathetic, right now... -cough- But my return is suckier than yours. x.x ))
Zethiael smiled. Bit less than a day, I believe. Though I suppose I should know the layout of my home better than I currently do... I follow your lead.
She nodded briskly, and padded out to follow him, nitts matching his stride's tempo.
((Haha. 'Tempo.' I'm such a band geek. ))
